Barking at Leaves…

IM001566 600Like an explosion all 5 dogs will rush up from where they are laying and with loud barks hurl themselves to the dog door into the yard. The racket they make is almost thunderous and it blocks out every other sound in the room until they finally get outside. They do this maybe a half-a-dozen times each night as we watch TV. My oldest complains almost every single time and sometimes even yells at them. It can be very annoying, but I know that they see their job as protectors of the family, and showing a strong front to any and all potential intruders is part of their duty and they are very dedicated. But as annoying as it may be I know that if and when a real intruder ever tries to get into our house, we will be very grateful for the protection these dogs will provide.

A lot of people find those that post about politics and religion on social networking sites as annoying, too. But like my dogs, these are people that see their role in society are protectors of rights and freedoms. The reason many politicians that try to pass laws that restrict people’s freedom, cannot is because of these same people, alerting us to the dangers. Be very grateful for these people because it is through their effort that many bad laws have been defeated. It’s because of these people that corrupt politicians find themselves hamstrung when trying to amass power. Yes, they can be annoying, but the alternative would be much, much worse.
